Pelvic Floor Disorders consist of a variety of conditions including Bladder Control Problems, Vaginal Prolapse, Anal Incontinence and Pelvic Pain Disorders.

An estimated 17 million US women are affected by urinary incontinence, 15% develop anal incontinence and 11% undergo surgical repair of their prolapse problems.

Many but not all of these conditions are related to childbirth. Women of all ages may experience weakening of their pelvic floor. As the weakening worsens, symptoms grow worse. Fortunately, there are many conservative solutions to these problems, both non-surgical and surgical.

The Women's Pelvic Health and Continence Center is dedicated to the confidential and comprehensive evaluation and treatment of these common disorders.

Our Bladder Program includes dietary and pharmacological management, pelvic floor rehabilitation with biofeedback and electrical stimulation, pessary use and bladder lavage therapy. Surgical management can include in-office trans-urethral bulking agents, out-patient bladder sling suspensions and Interstim neuromodulation.

Our Prolapse Program includes pelvic floor rehabilitation and pessary use. Surgical management can include vaginal cosmetic surgery and pelvic reconstruction with grafts.

Our Anal Incontinence Program includes bowel management, dietary management, pharmacological management and pelvic floor rehabilitation. Surgical management can include anal sphincter revisions, rectocele repair and Interstim neuromodulation.

Our Diagnostic Capabilities include complete history and physical exams, laboratory evaluation, urodynamics, cystometrograms, electromyelograms, potassium chloride testing, cystoscopy, pelvic ultrasound, 360-degree trans-anal ultrasound and pudenal nerve motor latency studies.

We also provide Complete Gynecological Care including annual exams, abnormal pap treatment, colposcopies, cryo's, leeps, menstrual flow disorder, menopause and management of chronic pelvic pain syndrome.
